Monthly club meetings are typically held the fourth Thursday at Seaman’s Lodge in Pioneer Park, 427 Nimrod Street, Nevada City. Offsite events include the May annual picnic and our August Rescue Clinic.
These gatherings are social, recreational, and informational in nature. Presentations offer information associated with the sport of paddling through speakers, videos, and slideshows. The meeting often includes a potluck dinner. Details will be emailed to our members and can also be found in our newsletter.
If you are not a member and wish to check us out, you are invited to join us. Contact Susan Rossman, Membership Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thursday, July 22: July’s program will feature a representative from Northern California’s largest (and likely oldest) kayak shop, California Canoe and Kayak. That representative, Francis, will be managing CCK’s soon-to-be-reopened shop in Rancho Cordova (it will be great to again have a kayak shop in our backyard). Francis will present information about kayak-related equipment of all sorts, including discussion of kayaks (materials, weights, lengths, paddling characteristics, etc.), paddles, and countless other items which make for good paddling. There will be opportunities to ask all the related questions which you might have. If you have specific questions or topics which you’d like to make sure are covered, please let Chris know and he’ll relay those along to Francis ahead of the meeting. Social hour starts at 6:00. Potluck dinner at 6:30. Bring whatever you would like to share, along with your own plate, silverware, etc. A brief business meeting will start at 7:00, with the program to follow.
