Low temperatures resulted in a cancellation of this year’s traditional January 2nd New Year’s Paddle on Lake Englebright. Laurie and Dennis thought it would be the perfect day for a hike on the Buttermilk Trail at South Yuba State Park, and Peter, June, and Rachel joined them. “We may not have been ON the water, we sure did see a lot of torrential water, with all the small waterfalls, and the Yuba flowing fast and furious,” said June. The weather ended up being sunny and warm and a great day for a fun hike along the Yuba River. Photographers June and Peter took some photos with their iPhones and shared them with us. Hard to believe just a few miles up the road, some of our members were still without power, and shoveling snow.
